Beautifully handcrafted in 18ct Gold Vermeil, the charm is shaped like a traditional fan, is detailed with Miffy, a distinctive silhouette, and hangs beautifully from a fine extendable trace necklace. The design of the fan is inspired by the symbolism of traditional Eastern fans signifying power, love and status.

The original Chinese fan, the tuánshàn 团扇, is said to have been modelled after the full moon and signifies union and happiness. For over 3,000 years, fans have been used as fashion statements, art displays, and a way to keep cool or provide shade.

Miffy is a fictional rabbit appearing in a series of picture books drawn and written by legendary Dutch artist Dick Bruna. Miffy’s creator Dick Bruna was born on 23rd August in 1927, another ‘Year of the Rabbit’. The first Miffy book was published in 1955 after Dick had told his one-year-old son stories about a little rabbit they had seen earlier in the dunes while on holiday - her Dutch name Nijntje is short for konijntje, meaning 'little rabbit'. This sweet rabbit has inspired our Miffy Jewellery Collection.
